Palin's talking about the President of Iraq (Talibani) and someone (A Washington Post columnist!) believes that Palin was talking about the Taliban...

And the columnist believe the gaffe is Palin's and not his own...
If the quote is correct she said the Talibani, which would denote an entity not a person.
If she was talking about Talibani, then her communication skills are still off, because her audience (the American people who tuned in) is probably unaware of the difference and also thinks it was either a blunder or her unique way of pronouncing "Taliban".
Yes her knowledge of foreign affairs in the Middle east is superficial. Can we all agree on that and move on?
