If that's all you're hearing, then you obviously don't get it...
It's like the principal pulling the fire alarm.
And afterwards, the Republicans react badly to it. Some start talking about how if the fire raped somebody, and whether or not it was an "honest" rape. Some insist that the person the fire raped should carry the baby to term.
Some talk about whether the government should have the power to prevent people from preventing a fire...
And some do claim a violation of religious fire freedom.
And then, the principal calmly walks everybody out of the school. Announcing that there will be a compromise.
But for those Republican presidential candidates who presented those crazy ideas...
The bell has been unrung. Something exposed which cannot be hidden again.
