They said global temperatures have been rising for the period they looked at. Nobody, including skeptics have ever doubted that. With that it's big so what.
They did not say they now have evidence man is causing an extreme warming event which will inevitably lead to global catastrophe. They couldn't. The evidence isn't there. They found a little warming nobody doubted was there in the first place, and could be explained by natural variation.
The place where there will be disagreement concerns their suggestion the Urban Heat Island effect does not affect measurements. On that it's worth seeing the other side's argument. Wanna see that?
