2. The verses quoted [i]in totem[i] demonstrate to those of us "outside the camp" just how truly convoluted and imprecise the Bible is.
Is it any wonder there have been so many sects, denominations, and divisions of every type within Christianity?

Truthfully I must admit that I don't believe the Bible is completely factual. I believe that Genesis was a simplified way of explaining evolution to a people who were not prepared or knowledgeable enough to comprehend the evolution theory. I believe in reincarnation and that our soul is purified through every life, "polishing" us, for use of a better word, so that we can reach a higher evolutionary state and join our creator, and the Bible contains teachings that will help us in this endeavor. Hence, I believe in a God, but I believe that prayer is meant to nourish and fortify our souls, not that He requires glorification. Oh, and I don't believe there is a hell. Hell is the process through which you soul is purified (i.e. life, hell is on Earth, etc.). I guess I'm not really religious at all, lol. You cannot discount the teachings of the Bible. In it you will find everything from good parenting to how to live through life's hardest blows. Scripture will give you fortitude in times of crisis.
