It's a scientific article. It doesn't promote any agenda. It's a here's-the-info-do-what-you-will-with-it type piece.
Maybe as some here suggested, it is a good thing. Maybe not. These people give us the tools to figure out what if anything is to be done.
The statement about "something happening here" was mine.
Carry on.

Nat'l Geographic has always been on the "doom and gloom" bandwagon. They are a media outlet at their core and they depend on $ from subscriptions, grant $ and donations. All of which are enhanced by the "doom and gloom" propoganda.
Based on the historical evidence (specifically the Medeival Optimum), GW should be an overall positive. So why don't we hear about this??? If GW is coming, we should be preparing to take full advantage of it. If it's going to be a good thing, why should we stop it?? Rising sea levels??? Utter horsecrap!! Again, back to the MO, there are excellent records of sea levels available and they don't show rising sea levels. Had they risen to the levels the the GWers claim will happen, Venice would have never been built and the Dutch would have lived under water. There is rock solid evidence that shows that sea levels simply won't rise to anything near the levels that the GWers claim will happen. If they lied to you about that, what else are they lieing about? Is their computer model good? Nope. In the early '90s, it was shown to be overstating the effect of the solar sunspot cycle. This overstatement was supposedly corrected and yet afterwards the predictions got worse. They took a HUGE amount of energy out of the equation and got more energy out of it. Then there's the whole CO2 pile of BS. CO2 comprises .033% of our atmosphere and as a greenhouse gas it's effect is almost completely overshadowed by the effect of water vapor in the atmosphere. Yet, it's being demonized as the primary culprit in the greenhouse effect. Ice core samples show that CO2 levels rise AFTER increases in temperature, not before. Yet the GWers still blame CO2.
Holes, holes and more holes.
