I think you're confused about what a 'negative ad' is in the political world. Everything is in context. You take it OUT of that context, and you distort what is intended.

A negative political ad is one in which a candidate attacks another on a PERSONAL level - attacking character and personal reputation.

Of course political candidates attack POLITICAL ideologies and history of opponents. That is the entire point of a campaign - to show that the other one isn't as good a POLITICAL candidate.

Again - you're really struggling to find a problem with this ad where none exists. You don't have to BELIEVE in the ad - but to condemn it as a negative political ad is distortion and untrue.
