I hear what you're saying...
But at the same time, I can't help but think the storm isn't over yet.
I sincerely hope your words hold true in 5 years.
Until then, the whole "baby boomer" thing with an aging demographic will put a serious impact on the situation.
I don't see this issue as just a "gas" thing, but also part of a much bigger picture where our country's "average" age is growing older due to the "baby boomers".
George Bush made an attempt at improving our pension system in this country. And while some may have qualms about the way he wanted to do it, the end result (IMO) is like deciding that you won't use the Pawtuckett fire department, but then no fire department shows up so the fire rages on.
(And just to make it clear, that's blaming the people who helped make it so NO "fire department" showed up. Not condemning the President who tried to get some water flowing...)
The "gas" problem impacting the elderly is just the first signs of smoke. And the grass is very dry...
As for the rest of your post, I have to chuckle. This post is about the gas prices impact on the elderly, and somehow it's suddenly about Obama...
The current president is doing nothing about it. In fact, he "hadn't heard" about the $4.00 gas prices, and now I wish I had those back in my area...
The current president was present DURING THE ENTIRE RISE in gas prices, but let's not bother commenting on HIS actions (or inaction) on the subject...
But of course, let's talk about "Obama" so we can wait seven more months of this crap, and then blame HIM for it...
Maybe the elderly being impacted by not getting "Meals on Wheels" can be comforted by the fact that somebody is already blaming Obama's "presidency" for this...
