Great movie. I got the previewed clips/partially finished/storyboard presentation almost more than a year ago when I was working at WDW and the animators were even then concerned that some might see this as more than a love story, which is indeed the film's prime directive .

Guess they were right. I don't happen to think the environmental aspect ended up being preachy at all. They didn't scream 'global warming', but indeed they presented a future in which humans junked up the earth so much that it became uninhabitable.

There was a time when that was just a good sci-fi movie premise and not an eco-agenda driven conspiracy.

Anyhow, wonderful film. I think it deserves an oscar nomination for best picture. Telling stories with almost no dialogue whatsoever is most definitely a lost art.
