Default Re: Survey: Underage drinkers get alcohol free from adults

What this study will eventually lead to, I'm afraid, is stricter laws on the good guys. Many parents introduce their kids to wine with dinner or a mild cocktail on New Years or Christmas. And I think those kinds of introductions are O.K., and agree that teens like to investigate the taboo.
But there are people, as the study suggests, who have a drug or alcohol problem and share with their kids in an unhealthy irresponsible manner.
But you watch the news and see if they don't call for stricter punishments for parents of underage drinkers.
Not only do we as a society tend to throw the baby out with the bath water, we sometimes drown it with bureaucracy.
Why can't judges take common sense into account anymore when they mete out sentencing? I mean, after all they are judges. Meant to judge the wheat from the chaff so to speak.
