Feel free to post any questions or information regarding Obama's known associations in this thread.
I checked out Obama's new website (
Fight the Smears | Fight the Smears Home ) to cross reference this Obama article I was researching. I could not find this guy on Obama's website, so I thought I'd get some feedback from other members
It's an older article (almost 3 months old) and I found it a curious read. If the association is as it it explained in the article, then would that be a potential issue for those that are still unsure on who to vote for.
I would like to know what is the association between Rashid Khalidi and Barack Obama is all about. Is Khalidi someone that Obama would use as a reference if he were to apply for a high level security clearance (hypothetical)? What are we to make of this association?

Obama Connection to Terrorists Revealed by Talk Show Host
By Jim Kouri, 3/24/2008 9:02:29 AM
There is a far-reaching scandal brewing for presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama, thanks to a radio talk show host based in Oregon. Syndicated talk host Laurie Roth's revelations make the news story about Obama's relationship with a racist, anti-American pastor look like child's play.
A top official at the Pentagon during former-President George H. W. Bush's Administration and a former CIA intelligence officer maintain that Barack Obama and former Weather Underground honcho William Ayers funneled money to Professor Rashid Khalidi, a known terrorist sympathizer.
Khalidi serves on the faculty of Columbia University in New York and is best known as the professor who invited Iranian President Ahmedinejad to visit Columbia University after he finished his speech at the United Nations. According to confidential sources, Khalidi has direct ties to the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), a group on the US State Department's list of known terrorist groups.

An excerpt from an article that further explains the Khalidi/Obama association.
Quote:
Another author has two books for sale through the AMEU who might strike a bell in people who have been covering Senator Obama's campaign: Rashid Khalidi. Khalidi is a historian and professor of the Middle East who came to know Barack Obama well when Khalidi taught at the University of Chicago. Obama and Khalidi were friends and dinner companions. (Allies of Palestinians see a friend in Barack Obama). Khalidi is also a well-known and very visible Palestinian activist who once worked for the Palestinian Liberation Organization. He now teaches at Columbia University. His pro-Palestinian advocacy continues since he left Chicago.
At times, Khalidi's activities have been the subject of controversy. For example, he had been a participant in the New York City teacher training program, but in 1995 his participation was ended by the city's School Chancellor who issued this statement:
"Considering his past statements, Rashid Khalidi should not have been included in a program that provided professional development for [Department of Education] teachers and he won't be participating in the future."
When Barack Obama served on the nonprofit Woods Foundation board, the foundation gave a large grant to a social services group whose board was headed by Mona Khaldi, Rashid Khalidi's wife.

What's the association here, if any?
