It makes perfect sense to me

but so far most of our theories are based on biblical principal. I'm waiting for secular humanists, agnostics and atheists to weigh in on this. Would they agree with the concept of the animal/plant appearing first? And on what grounds, since they may not revere the Old Testament ?
Another question that I can't help but pose here, is why do we care? People have argued and mused over this point for centuries. What would the answer prove to us as humans. The meaning of life? Or is it the desire to prove some inner "truth" and say "ah-ha!" "I was right!"
