correction. Senator Obama spoke at the Taco Bell Arena, not the Idaho Center.

Until recently to vote in the primary, one did not have to declare a party. I searched but could not locate information on whether a bill to change that rule passed. But the Dems held a caucus in February and the Republicans hold a primary election on May 27th IdahoVotes.gov
I believe Ron Paul is still on the ballot.

I said all that to say this (paraphrasing Tricky Dick), Obama's crowd drawing ability here was significant.
