How would you know what is good, if there were no bad? How would you know that you are happy if you were never sad? Almost sounds like a bad country song, lol. I had a very close death in my family at a very young age, so I am very realistic when it comes to the concept of my own death.
If you continue on the metaphysics theory, you actually choose your life, as a means of learning what you need to learn, so it explains a lot of the misery in the world, and puts your suffering a little more into perspective. Of course the choice to learn is always yours, so if you avoid the lesson, you miss out. Very interesting stuff,
