The word f@ggot has historically meant a bundle of wood.
But I don't think anybody would contest the fact that it also is a reference to a gay person, perjoratively.
Regardless, it still has a definition as a bundle of wood.

The word "gay" originally had a meaning of "happily excited : merry "
Like f@ggot, the reference to gay men was added later.
Pointing repeatedly to references where it uses other meanings of the word "gay" does not refute the fact that it has a long history in being a perjorative against homosexuals.
