So still, the trail leads back to the fact that we secure the border and enforce the immigration laws to solve other problems in our country.

This isn't about race. It is about an invasion that puts a strain on our economy, law enforcement, and social programs. It is convenient to make this about race because no one wants to even touch that subject, so the issue gets left for another day. However, I feel the same way about this that I do about racial profiling on airlines: it wasn't a little blue haired old lady that hijacked a plane and it ain't a wealthy white Brit that's trying to illegally cross our borders. Forgive me; I'm a realist as well as a loyalist.

And when did I say the contrary? I am saying PLEASE secure the borders, PLEASE fix the problem, PLEASE enforce the laws. I am not accusing anyone here of being a racist (I don't know any of you personally), I am simply stating that local laws (as opposed to federal legislation) don't fix the problem, they pass the buck, and promote racism and bigotry. Is it in you specifically? Only you can know that. But it is a problem. Not for the "white majority", but it is for the 35m+ legal Hispanic immigrants that live in this country (most of whom happen to also be American). Every one of my posts have been to highlight how local legislation promotes racism and bigotry.

The comparison of the weed smokers is just to highlight an anlogy of what it might feel like to have the shoe on the other foot. Certainly I do not assume to equate the legal standing of an illegal immigrant with that of an American, that would be absurd.

So... federal legislation continues to get rejected for fear of the government not doing their job, securing the border and keeping even more illegals out. Local legislation gets passed, pushing illegals into other towns, which makes that town and probably every other nearby hostile towards ALL Hispanics (even though they probably have Russian illegals noone is looking at). And that makes it about race.

In any case, "lo que sera, sera", and all the debating in the world won't change that. I'm sorry if you took personal offense, but "whites" are blissfully unaware of what it feels like to be discriminated against. I have seen it, I have felt it, and I have felt it through my family. And I cannot applaud local legislation that makes anyone look at my children sideways. Period.
