I would agree to an extent, but that's because the view is too black & white...

Religion didn't have as many factors PULLING people away from it as it did in the past...

Just like everything else in life, there's a competition to get people's attention, and religion has to compete with an ever growing amount of distractions...

Religion used to be PART of the common man's life...Now it's portrayed like a crutch only to be used in times of tragedy or when someone wants a change of life...Religion has to battle through that concept...Part of it is due to what it does, but a larger part has to do with other factors of life "getting in the way"...
