Re: Is Going Green Making You Crazy? It's Time for Eco-Therapy
I've hugged a tree. To say I'm sorry and kind of to say good bye. It was the only tree left in a small forest near where I grew up. It was right next to a place I had found a bubbling little spring. Now there is no potable water underneath the ground in the whole state according to Jeb Bush's statements a few years ago.
That's why I will never live in Florida again as long as I live. It hurts too much. I grew up with those trees and the animals (which have had to move on). Never in my life have I ever had an alligator come up in my yard as they are reported to do today. I developed a deep respect for and friendship with trees. And foxes. And snakes. And spiders.
Then they 'paved paradise and put up a parking lot'.
I don't give a damn about your trees in Oregon or the Allegheny.
I'm sorry, but I just don't. And when I'm in one of those restrooms with a hand dryer and automatic flushers, I try my best to use as much paper as possible and find the trip button and flush and flush.
Maybe I'll kill some more trees. Maybe all the water will be undrinkable.
I just don't care.
