Responding to the poll, it just plain depends.

There are some schools that you hear about that weren't running background checks on the teachers / janitors / etc. That's too little protection, IMO.

Preventing corporal punishment? Way too much "protection", IMO.
Forbidding aspirin in the school under "drug" classifications? Too much.

A court ruling that says you can't sue the school cause a kid got raped on the school bus? Too little.

It varies on the issue.
