The bolded is the key, I think. You have an artistic creative ability, and the message means something to you. Maybe it's not a woman-man thing, but strictly a brain dominance issue. I can write poetry, but only when I'm seriously depressed, and it's moody and dark. My "normal" state of mind is not creative, but I wonder if it's my desire to be in touch with that part of myself that draws me to lyrics over sound.
