I actually think you're correct...
A lot of people are jumping in front of each other trying to re-interpret what she meant so she doesn't offend (and lose votes)...
I have a better idea...Let's take her word for it and NOT spin it to what's "politically advantageous"...
There has been a rash of people who SEEM to put their foot in their mouth, but are REALLY giving us a glimpse of how they truly feel...
Dick Durbin saying American troops act like Pol Pot and Stalin...
John Kerry's "botched joke" about people either being educated or else they'll end up in Iraq...
Anti-war protestors burning a US soldier in effigy in Portland last year...
The people on their side of the aisle WANT to defend their position by saying these are just isolated incidents and not a movement...I disagree...
What Michelle Obama said IS a movement...She is representative of the FAR Left base that believes America is a bad place that can only be salvaged by certain individuals...
They are NOT "not proud" in contect...They are NOT "not proud" but only in certain circumstances...
They are not proud PERIOD...
They REALLY believe that America is scum...an imperialist, pushy scum that will only right itself if "their guy" leads the way...If not, America will continue to be scum...
There are
many who feel this way...Berkeley is a perfect example...Hollywood elitists another...
So what she said IS indicative of the thought process of known segments of society...To say that she didn't mean it is to only prevent political damage...which means hiding her true feelings...and living a farce...
