The site to which I direct you is largely based upon a brochure for
The Gobbler, a motel, restaurant architectural icon and temple to the tasteless use of shag carpeting in Wisconsin in the 70's.
When you get to the home page, look for the "start here" link to begin the tour. It's hiding, apparently in shame, on the right beneath the turkey-eye window.
This was a real place. Somebody really did this, and then was allowed to run free.
LILEKS (James) :: the Gobbler
Post note: there can be justice in the world, for as Wikipedia
tells us: "the motel was abandoned in 2001. Shortly thereafter, the Johnson Creek Fire Department burned the motel to the ground. . .."
