You are making a catagory error.

Its not that Obama is not proud of himself, he is much too proud of himself as his haughty manner reveals. His problem is that he is not proud of his country. This is the problem that the other side is seeing with him and his incesant humiliating bows and unneeded and unasked for apologies. His wife also has this problem as she unwittingly revealed when she wa quoted as saying "For the first time in my adult lifetime, I'm really proud of my country" at some function.
